2026 Resident

Residenza No. 12 looks forward to hosting this year’s resident, Teresa Royo, in the Spring of 2026. Teresa will spend two weeks in residence working on her creation Fragmento I.

Teresa, born in Granada, 1994, is a contemporary and classical dancer based in Amsterdam, working in the areas of movement research, choreography, and interdisciplinary creation.

She trained at the Royal Conservatory of Dance Mariemma and the CSD María de Ávila in Madrid, and later continued her studies at the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden, where she deepened her interest in somatic practices, improvisation, and dance-theatre.

Throughout her career, she has performed works by choreographers including Nacho Duato, Johan Inger, Tony Fabre, Fernando Hernando Magadán, Ohad Naharin, Itzik Galili, Jon López, Barnaby Booth, Martin Harriague, David Middendorp, Paxton Ricketts, Brice Asnar, and Iker Karrera, among others. Her practice combines physical rigor with emotional depth, exploring the body as an archive of memory, identity, and sensation.

In addition to her work as a performer, Teresa is developing a personal artistic voice through projects that merge dance, photography, and film. Her ongoing research expands the movement language initiated in TOTHOM: Fragmento I, focusing on embodied memory, fragmentary dramaturgies, and the poetic potential of everyday gestures.
